It sounds too good to be true, so let’s be plain about it: if you smoke and you’re ready to quit, our Birmingham City Council–funded programme can provide you with a free vape kit — or free patches, gum, lozenges and other Nicotine Replacement Therapy — as part of 12 weeks of expert support.* No catch, no card details, no subscription hiding underneath.

Why would anyone give away free vapes?

Because it works, and because helping people quit costs the NHS far less than treating the diseases smoking causes. Switching completely from cigarettes to a regulated vape is one of the most effective quitting tools available — UK health bodies consistently find vaping far less harmful than smoking — and putting a starter kit in your hand removes the two biggest barriers: cost and not knowing where to begin.

How it works

“The kit gets you started. The support is what gets you free — you’re three times more likely to quit for good with expert help than alone.”

What it costs

The programme and products are free if you don’t pay for NHS prescriptions. If you do normally pay, there’s a single prescription charge covering the entire 12 weeks — less than the price of two packs of cigarettes for three months of support and supplies. Most smokers save that back within the first week of not buying cigarettes.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to quit — a free kit, expert backup and a plan built around you is a pretty good one.

Service free for those who don’t pay for NHS prescriptions. One single prescription charge for the full 12 weeks if you do pay for prescriptions.
